Ford Explorer: Evaporative Emissions - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS) / Removal and Installation - Evaporative Emission Canister Vent Solenoid

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
   Refer to: Jacking and Lifting (100-02) .
   

1. 1. Remove the fasteners.
      Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
   2. Remove the fasteners.
      
   3. Remove the fasteners.
      Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)
   4. Remove the push pin.
      
   5. Remove the fasteners.
      Torque: 53 lb.in (6 Nm)

1. • Disconnect the EVAP canister electrical connector.
     
   • Disconnect the vapor vent hose.
     

1. Rotate the EVAP canister solenoid clockwise and remove the EVAP canister solenoid.
   

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
