Ford Explorer: Climate Control System - General Information / Removal and Installation - Ambient Air Temperature Sensor
Removal
NOTE:

Remove the front bumper cover.
Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).

Disconnect the electrical connector. Detach and remove the ambient air temperature sensor.
Installation

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

If replacing the ambient air temperature sensor a reset must be performed. Select the A/C and Recirc buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds, then release both, within 2 seconds select A/C button again.
Removal
Remove the climate control housing.
Refer to: Climate Control Housing (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Removal and Installation)...
Removal
Remove the push pins and the passenger side insulation panel.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the screws and the blower motor ..

The VIN is a 17-digit combination of letters and numbers. The VIN is stamped on a metal tab riveted to the instrument panel, top upper left of the dash. The VIN is also found on the VC label. If the VIN plate requires replacement, authorized dealers must contact their respective regional office...

Using a non-marring trim tool, disengage the moulding retainers attaching the moulding to the door.
Remove and discard the moulding...
