Draining

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. If equipped.
    Torque: 21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
    1. Remove the drain plug and drain the fluid.
    1. Clean the drain plug and the area around drain plug.
    1. Install the drain plug.
      Torque: 142 lb.in (16 Nm)

Filling

    1. Clean the fill plug and the area around fill plug. Remove the fill plug.
    1. Fill the transfer case fluid.
    1. Install the fill plug.
      Torque: 142 lb.in (16 Nm)
