A1 DETERMINE IF ALL THE PARKING LAMPS ARE INOPERATIVE
  • Ignition ON.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position and observe all the parking lamps.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position and observe all the parking lamps.

Are any of the parking lamps always on?
Yes If one or more of the parking lamps are always on, GO to A2
If all the parking lamps are always on, GO to A24
No If the signature or LED DRL/front parking lamp is inoperative, GO to A3
If the front side marker lamp (if equipped) is inoperative, GO to A8
If both license plate lamps only are inoperative, GO to A14
If one license plate lamps are inoperative, VERIFY the license plate bulb(s) are OK. INSTALL new bulb(s) if necessary. If the bulb(s) are OK, REPAIR the liftgate moulding wiring harness. If the harness can not be repaired, INSTALL a new liftgate moulding.
REFER to: Liftgate Moulding (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation, Removal and Installation). If one of the rear parking lamps is inoperative, GO to A19
If all parking lamps are inoperative, GO to A24

A2 CHECK THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) PARKING LAMP OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Disconnect: BCM C2280F (For front parking, rear parking and side marker lamps).
  • Disconnect: BCM C2280C (For license plate lamps).
  • Ignition ON.

Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate?
Yes REPAIR the affected circuit.
No GO to A24

A3 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE FRONT SIGNATURE AND LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) DRL (DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS) /FRONT PARKING LAMP
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Disconnect: Inoperative LH Headlamp C1284 or RH Headlamp C1285.
  • Ignition ON.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position.
  • Measure:

  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test.
  • Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver).
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Ignition ON.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position.

If DTC U1000:00 is present, CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver if DTC U1000:00 is present).
If DTC U3000:49 is present, INSTALL a new BCM.

A8 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE FRONT SIDE MARKER LAMP
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Disconnect: Inoperative LH Headlamp C1284 or RH Headlamp C1285.
  • Ignition ON.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position.
  • Measure:

  • Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and repeat the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver).
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Ignition ON.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position.

If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, TEST the system for normal operation.
If DTC U1000:00 is present, CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver if DTC U1000:00 is present).
If DTC U3000:49 is present, INSTALL a new BCM.

A13 CHECK THE LED (LIGHT EMITTING DIODE) CONTROL MODULE
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Connect: Inoperative LH Headlamp C1284 or RH Headlamp C1285.
  • Ignition ON.
  • CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), REPEAT the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver) and cycle the ignition OFF and ON. REPEAT the self-test.
  • Activate the hazard flasher lamp function.
  • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present or does any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) return?
Yes REMOVE the known good LED control module. INSTALL a new headlamp assembly.
REFER to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
No REMOVE the known good LED control module. INSTALL a new LED control module.
REFER to: Light Emitting Diode (LED) Control Module (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).

A14 CHECK FOR VOLTAGE TO THE LICENSE PLATE LAMP
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Disconnect: For vehicles with rear only parking aid camera, Liftgate Applique C4488.
  • Disconnect: For vehicles equipped with 360 degree camera, Liftgate Applique C4352.
  • Ignition ON.
  • Place the headlamp switch in the PARKING LAMPS position.
  • Measure:

A17 CHECK THE LICENSE PLATE LAMP SUPPLY CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
  • Place the headlamp switch in the OFF position.
  • Ignition OFF.
  • Disconnect: BCM C2280C.
  • Measure:

A23 CHECK VOLTAGE CIRCUIT TO THE REAR PARKING LAMP FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

    Positive Lead Measurement / Action Negative Lead
      C414-3   Ground

      C417-3   Ground

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes GO to A24
No REPAIR the circuit. After the repair:
If no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, TEST the system for normal operation.
If DTC U1000:00 is present, CLEAR the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and REPEAT the self-test (required to enable the lamp output driver if DTC U1000:00 is present).
If DTC U3000:49 is present, INSTALL a new BCM.

A24 CHECK FOR CORRECT BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) OPERATION
  • Disconnect and inspect all BCM connectors.
  • Repair:
    • corrosion (install new connector or terminals – clean module pins)
    • damaged or bent pins – install new terminals/pins
    • pushed-out pins – install new pins as necessary
  • Reconnect the BCM connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.
  • Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
Yes CHECK OASIS for any applicable service articles: TSB, GSB, SSM or FSA. If a service article exists for this concern, DISCONTINUE this test and FOLLOW the service article instructions. If no service articles address this concern, INSTALL a new BCM.
REFER to: Body Control Module (BCM) (419-10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, Diagnosis and Testing).
No The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by module connections. ADDRESS the root cause of any connector or pin issues.
