Engine oil and engine oil filter

Engine oil is normally consumed while driving, so check the oil level regularly between scheduled services.

The normal-use oil change interval is based on using engine oil that meets the recommended specification. If you use oil that does not meet that specification, change the oil according to the severe-use maintenance schedule.

Do not add additives to the engine oil. They can alter its properties and may cause serious engine damage.

Engine coolant

When topping up the coolant, use only deionised or soft water. Do not mix hard water with the coolant filled at the factory, as an incorrect mixture may cause a serious malfunction or engine damage.

For convenience, the coolant may be replaced earlier when other maintenance work is being carried out.

Engine drive belts

Inspect the alternator, water pump and air conditioner drive belts. Repair or replace them if necessary.

Check the drive belt tensioner, idler and alternator pulley, and adjust or replace components if required.

Spark plugs

For convenience, spark plugs may be replaced earlier when other maintenance work is being performed.

Fuel additives

Kia recommends using unleaded petrol with an octane rating of RON 95 or AKI 91 or higher.

If you do not regularly use good-quality petrol containing fuel additives and experience difficulty starting the engine or notice that it does not run smoothly, add one bottle of fuel additive to the tank when the engine oil is changed. Additives and usage instructions are available from a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner. Do not mix different additives.

Transmission fluid

Change the transmission fluid if it has been submerged in water.
