Follow the Normal Maintenance Schedule if your Kia Picanto is generally driven in conditions that do not match any of those listed below. If one or more of these conditions apply, use the Maintenance Under Severe Usage Conditions schedule instead.
Repeated trips of less than 8 km (5 miles) in normal temperatures, or less than 16 km (10 miles) in freezing temperatures.
Extended periods of engine idling or driving at low speeds over long distances.
Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, gravel or salt-treated roads.
Driving in areas where roads are treated with salt or other corrosive materials, or operating the vehicle in very cold weather.
Driving in heavily dusty conditions.
Driving in heavy traffic.
Repeated driving on uphill, downhill or mountain roads.
Using the vehicle for towing or camping, or carrying a load on the roof.
Using the vehicle as a patrol car, taxi or for other commercial purposes, including towing.
Frequently driving at high speeds or accelerating and decelerating rapidly.
Frequently driving in stop-and-go traffic.
Using engine oil that is not recommended, such as mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil or oil that does not meet the required specification.
If your Kia Picanto is regularly driven in any of these conditions, inspect, replace or replenish the relevant items more often. Use the severe-usage maintenance schedule in place of the normal schedule.
NOTE
For Smartstream G1.0 GDi
Your vehicle may have an Oil Life Management System. It estimates engine oil life from your driving history and alerts you when an oil change is due.
If demanding driving conditions cause the engine oil to deteriorate faster, the remaining oil life alert may appear on the instrument cluster before the normal oil change interval. Have the engine oil and filter replaced by an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
The Oil Life Management System is designed to work with the recommended engine oil. If you use a different oil, replace the oil according to the severe-usage maintenance schedule.
Check the engine oil level regularly as well. The system assumes that the oil has been filled to the correct level.
Reset the remaining oil life every time the engine oil is changed. If you do not reset it, the Oil Life Management System may give inaccurate information.
If no alert appears before the maximum maintenance interval, have the vehicle checked by an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
Normal Maintenance ScheduleYou can use the power door lock control or the remote control to lock and unlock your vehicle.
