The Kia Picanto power outlet supplies electricity to mobile phones and other accessories designed for use with vehicle electrical systems. Use compatible devices that draw less than 10 amps, and operate the outlet with the engine running.
CAUTION
Use the power outlet only while the engine is running, and disconnect the accessory plug after use. Leaving an accessory connected for an extended period with the engine stopped can discharge the vehicle battery.
Connect only 12V electrical accessories with a current requirement of less than 10A. Check the accessory’s rating before plugging it in.
Set the air conditioning or heating system to its lowest operating level while using the power outlet.
Keep the outlet cover closed whenever the socket is not in use.
Some electronic accessories may produce interference when connected to the vehicle’s power outlet. This can cause excessive static through the audio system or disrupt other electronic systems and devices used inside the vehicle.
Connecting equipment that exceeds the outlet’s rated capacity can overheat the socket and wiring, potentially causing an electrical failure.
Always insert the accessory plug firmly into the outlet. A loose or partially inserted plug may cause an electrical fault.
Accessories with a built-in battery may allow current to flow back into the vehicle’s electrical system, potentially causing electrical or electronic malfunctions. Use only products equipped with reverse-current protection.
