Removal
NOTE:

With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

Remove the transfer case heat shield (if equipped).

Disconnect the harness connector.

Remove the mounting bolts and the transfer case clutch actuator.
-
NOTE:
This step is not necessary when installing a new component.
Remove and discard the transfer case clutch actuator O-ring seal.
Installation

NOTE:
This step is not necessary when installing a new transfer case clutch actuator.
NOTE:
Lubricate the "O" ring surface with oil before installing.
Insert the "O"-ring seal on the transfer case clutch actuator.

Install the transfer case clutch actuator and bolts.
Torque:
89 lb.in (10 Nm)

Connect the harness connector.

Install the transfer case heat shield (if equipped).
Torque:
21 lb.ft (28 Nm)
