Ford Explorer: Front Seats / Removal and Installation - Front Seat Cushion Adjuster - Vehicles With: Multi-Contour Seats

General Equipment
Removal
NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.

Remove the front seat.
Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Release the front seat backrest panel straps.

Detach the retainer and position the wiring harness aside.

Release the backrest panel straps.
-
Remove the front seat cushion blower motor.
-
Disconnect the electrical connector.
-
Rotate the blower motor 45 degrees clockwise.

NOTE:
The back panel finish can be easily marred or torn, use care when working around it.
On both sides, grasp the back panel where it meets the
module trim, pull to release the clips and separate the back panel from
the module trim.

Pull out at the bottom, release the clips and detach the back panel from the backrest frame.
Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

Pull down and out and remove the back panel.

NOTE:
After disconnecting the hose and lock assemblies,
verify the black O-ring and white spacer remains with each hose.
NOTE:
When connecting the hose and lock assemblies, an audible click must be heard for correct installation.
Detach the multi-contour seat cushion hose retainers,
release the locking tab, disconnect the hose coupling from the SCMG and route the hose assembly out from the backrest.

Remove the front seat cushion cover and foam as an assembly.
Refer to: Front Seat Cushion Cover (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation).

Detach the front seat cushion adjuster retainers.

Lift the cushion adjuster bladders.
-
Detach the retainers.
-
Detach the front seat cushion blower motor duct.
-
Route out the hoses and remove the front seat cushion adjuster.
Installation
-
To install reverse the removal procedure.

Driver seat control switch shown, all others similar.
Remove the front seat.
Refer to: Front Seat (501-10A Front Seats, Removal and Installation)...
Removal
Raise the front seat to its highest point of travel.
Remove the front seat cushion blower motor.
Disconnect the electrical connector...
Other information:
Cargo Management System (If Equipped)
The system is in the floor of the cargo area. Lift the handle to open.
Adjustable Load Floor (If Equipped)
Vehicles with the standard size spare tire can adjust the load floor to two positions.
You can place the front of the load floor either on, for high position, or below,
for low position, the ledges behind the rear seats...
Use oil and fluid that meets the defined specification and viscosity grade.
If you do not use oil and fluid that meets the defined specification and viscosity
grade, it could result in:
Component damage not covered by the vehicle warranty.
