Removal

NOTE: LH (left-hand) side shown, RH (right-hand) side similar.

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Vehicles with passive entry

  1. Remove the front door window regulator and motor.
    Refer to: Front Door Window Regulator and Motor (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, Removal and Installation).
  1. NOTE: The front door is shown transparent for clarity.

    Disconnect the exterior front door handle electrical connector.

All vehicles

  1. Remove the exterior front door handle access plug.

  1. Remove the exterior front door handle.
    1. Hold the exterior front door handle open and turn the release screw enough to release the exterior front door handle.
      Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)
    1. Remove the exterior front door handle.

  1. Remove the exterior front door handle gaskets.
    1. Remove the exterior front door handle gasket.
    1. Remove the exterior front door handle gasket.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Carry out the power door window initialization.
    Refer to: Power Door Window Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures).
