Ford Explorer: Voltage Converter/Inverter / Removal and Installation - Direct Current/Alternating Current (DC/AC) Inverter
Removal
WARNING:
Disconnect the 12 volt battery before servicing the direct
current to alternating current (DC-AC) inverter or alternating current
(AC) powerpoint to prevent the risk of high voltage shock. Failure to
follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Disconnect the battery.
Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

Remove the retainers and the drivers side lower insulation panel.
-
Remove the bolts.
Torque:
27 lb.in (3 Nm)
-
Remove the nut and the push pin.
Torque:
27 lb.in (3 Nm)
-
Disconnect the electrical connector.
-
Disconnect the electrical connector.
-
Remove the screws and the Direct Current/Alternating Current (DC/AC) inverter.
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
