The washer-fluid reservoir is translucent, so you can check the level visually without opening it.
Check the reservoir and add washer fluid when needed. If washer fluid is unavailable, plain water may be used. In cold climates, use washer solvent with antifreeze properties to help prevent the fluid from freezing.
Warning
Washer fluid
Never put radiator coolant or antifreeze in the windscreen-washer reservoir.
Coolant sprayed onto the windscreen can severely reduce visibility, potentially causing loss of vehicle control. It may also damage the paint and body trim.
Windscreen-washer fluids contain alcohol and may be flammable in certain conditions. Keep sparks and flames away from the fluid and its reservoir to avoid damage to the vehicle or injury to its occupants.
Windscreen-washer fluid is poisonous to people and animals. Do not drink it or allow it to contact your body; serious injury or death could result.
Check the parking-brake stroke by counting the clicks as you apply it fully from the released position. The parking brake alone should hold the Kia Picanto securely on a fairly steep slope. If the stroke is outside the specified range, have the system inspected and adjusted by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.

Specified stroke: 5–7 clicks when applied with a force of 20 kg (44 lb, 196 N).
