Safe Exit Warning disabled

A: Blind-Spot Safety system disabled. Radar blocked. |
Snow, rain or other material covering the rear bumper around a rear corner radar sensor can reduce its detection performance. A trailer, carrier or similar attachment may also interfere with the sensor, temporarily limiting or disabling Safe Exit Warning.
In these conditions, a warning message and the Master warning light (
) appear on the
instrument cluster. This does not necessarily mean that Safe Exit Warning has a fault; its operation may simply be
restricted by the obstruction or attachment.
Remove the material or attachment, then restart the vehicle. Safe Exit Warning should operate normally once the obstruction has been cleared and the Kia Picanto has been restarted.
If the system still does not work correctly after the obstruction or attachment has been removed, have it inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
CAUTION
Switch off Safe Exit Warning before installing or removing a trailer, carrier or similar attachment. When the attachment has been removed, switch the system on again to use the function.
WARNING
Safe Exit Warning may not work correctly even if no warning message appears on the instrument cluster.
The system may not operate correctly just after the vehicle is switched on if there are no detectable objects nearby, such as in open terrain, or if a detecting sensor is covered by foreign material.
Switch off Safe Exit Warning before installing or removing a trailer, carrier or similar attachment. Remove the attachment before using the system again.
Safe Exit Warning may not operate as intended, or may respond unexpectedly, in the following situations:
When exiting the Kia Picanto beside overgrown trees or grass.
When leaving the vehicle beside a wet road surface.
When the approaching vehicle is travelling very fast or very slowly.
NOTE
For precautions related to the rear corner radar sensors, refer to the section on Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA).
WARNING
Strong electromagnetic waves may interfere with Safe Exit Warning and affect its operation.
Safe Exit Warning may be unavailable for approximately three seconds after the vehicle is restarted or while the rear corner radars are initializing.
Restarting the vehicle will not restore normal operation if an obstruction or system fault remains.
