The Kia Picanto sunroof may require resetting after an interruption to its electrical supply or if its automatic operation no longer works correctly. A reset may be necessary in the following circumstances:
The 12-volt battery has been disconnected or has become discharged.
The sunroof fuse has been replaced.
The one-touch AUTO OPEN/CLOSE function does not open or close the sunroof as intended.
Sunroof resetting procedure: Follow each step in order, paying particular attention to when the switch must be released and when it must remain held.
Kia recommends performing the reset with the engine running. With the vehicle stationary and the transmission in P (Park), start the engine before beginning the procedure.
Check that the sunroof glass is fully closed. If it is open, push the sunroof switch forwards and hold it until the glass reaches the completely closed position.
Once the glass is fully closed, release the switch.
Push the switch forwards again and hold it until the sunroof glass moves slightly. Release the switch after this small movement.
Push and hold the switch forwards once more. Keep it held while the glass slides open and then closes, and release it only after the full sequence has finished. If you release the switch before the operation is complete, restart the procedure from step 2.
NOTE
After a battery disconnection, battery discharge or blown sunroof fuse, normal operation may not be restored unless the sunroof is reset. Complete the reset procedure after the electrical supply has been restored.

If you switch off the engine while the sunroof is not fully closed, a warning chime sounds for several seconds and a sunroof-open message appears on the instrument cluster LCD display. This reminder prompts you to check the roof before leaving.
Close the sunroof completely and check that it is securely closed whenever you leave your Kia Picanto.
CAUTION
Do not leave the vehicle unattended with the sunroof partly or fully open. Rain or snow can enter the passenger compartment and wet the interior, while an open sunroof can also increase the risk of theft. Check the actual position of the glass before walking away.
