Your Kia Picanto may be equipped with Idle Stop and Go (ISG), a system designed to reduce fuel consumption by switching the engine off automatically while the vehicle is stationary. Typical situations include waiting at a red traffic light, stopping at a stop sign or standing in a traffic jam, provided the system’s operating conditions are satisfied.
The engine restarts automatically as soon as the required starting conditions are met, allowing you to continue your journey.
The ISG system is ON whenever the engine is running.
NOTE
During an automatic engine restart by ISG, certain warning lights may illuminate briefly for a few seconds. These can include the ABS, ESC, ESC OFF, Motor Driven Power Steering (MDPS) or parking brake warning lights.
This brief illumination can occur because of low battery voltage during the restart. In this situation, it does not indicate that the affected systems are malfunctioning.
Good braking practices
Auto stop. To stop the engine in idle stop mode. Auto start. To restart the engine from idle stop modeWARNING: Airbags can kill or injure a child in a child restraint. Never place a rear-facing child restraint in front of an active airbag. If you must use a forward-facing child restraint in the front seat, move the seat upon which the child restraint is installed all the way back.
