A: Driver Assistance
With the Kia Picanto switched on, open User Settings > Driver Assistance > Driving Safety > Speed Limit on the instrument cluster, or Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Speed Limit on the infotainment system.
Country Selection: If navigation is not enabled, select the country manually from the menu. Choose the country where you are currently driving so the system can operate as intended.
Speed Limit Assist: Displays speed limits and additional road signs, and warns the driver if the vehicle exceeds the posted limit. It can also prompt the driver to adjust the speed set in Manual Speed Limit Assist to help stay within the limit.
Speed Limit Warning: Displays speed limits and additional road signs, and warns the driver when the vehicle is travelling above the speed limit.
Speed Limit Information: Displays information about speed limits and additional road signs.
Off: Switches Intelligent Speed Limit Assist off. Its warning indicator (
) appears
on the instrument cluster.
WARNING
After the vehicle is switched off and restarted, Speed Limit Warning turns on automatically. Park the Kia Picanto in a safe place before changing Intelligent Speed Limit Assist settings.
NOTE
Press and hold the mute button on the steering wheel to switch between Intelligent Speed Limit Assist (or Speed Limit Warning) and Speed Limit Information, or to switch from Speed Limit Information to Intelligent Speed Limit Assist or turn the function off.
This shortcut depends on the infotainment software version. To check for software update instructions, scan the QR code in the infotainment system or the quick reference guide to open the web manual.

A: Driver Assistance
Warning Methods can be adjusted while the Kia Picanto is switched on. In the instrument cluster settings, select User Settings > Driver Assistance > Warning Methods. In the infotainment system, select Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Warning Methods. The available option is:
Warning Volume: Adjusts the volume of the warning sound.
TIP
A change to Warning Methods may apply to several driver assistance functions. Review the settings for each function and adjust them as needed.
After the vehicle is restarted, Warning Methods retains the last selected setting.
The menu may not be available on every vehicle specification.
Intelligent Speed Limit Assist presents information and alerts through the following functions:
Displaying the speed limit
Warning when the speed limit is exceeded
Prompting the driver to adjust the set speed
Automatically adjusting the set speed
Displaying speed limit
![]() |
Detected speed limit information appears on the Kia Picanto’s instrument cluster.
NOTE
If the system cannot identify the road’s speed limit, the display shows “---”. If road signs are difficult to recognise, refer to the section on Intelligent Speed Limit Assist malfunction and limitations.
In addition to speed limits, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist may display information about other road signs. The additional signs shown vary by country.
In Europe, a supplementary sign displayed beneath a speed limit or overtaking restriction sign indicates the conditions under which that restriction applies. If the system cannot recognise the supplementary sign, its display area remains blank.
Instrument cluster graphics and colours may vary depending on the cluster type or the theme selected in the settings menu.

If the Kia Picanto exceeds the displayed speed limit, the speed limit sign flashes on the instrument cluster and an audible alert sounds.
Changing set speed

When Manual Speed Limit Assist is active and the road’s speed limit changes, an upward or downward arrow appears to indicate that the set speed should be adjusted. Move the (+) or (−) switch in the direction shown to raise or lower the set speed to match the new limit.
Auto set speed change (if equipped with the navigation)
![]() |
While Manual Speed Limit Assist is active, adjust the set speed to match the detected road limit to enable Auto set speed change. The set speed appears in green on the instrument cluster, and the system then adjusts it automatically when the displayed speed limit changes.
Auto set speed change operates on roads with speed limits above 70 km/h (45 mph).
WARNING
If an infotainment system that is a Kia Genuine Part is installed separately, Auto set speed change may not work correctly.
Even after the set speed has been adjusted to match the road limit, the Kia Picanto may still travel faster than that limit. Press the brake pedal if necessary to reduce speed.
If the posted speed limit is below 30 km/h (20 mph), neither set speed change nor Auto set speed change operates.
Intelligent Speed Limit Assist uses the speed unit selected for the instrument cluster. If that unit differs from the one used in the country where you are driving, the system may not work correctly.
