Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist in the Kia Picanto detects vehicles, powered two-wheelers, pedestrians and cyclists ahead on the road. If it identifies a possible collision, it may alert you with a message in the instrument cluster and an audible warning. The system may also assist with braking to help reduce the speed of an impact or avoid the collision.

The illustration above identifies the front view camera used for detection. Refer to it when locating the sensor and taking the precautions described below.
CAUTION
Never dismantle the detecting sensor or its assembly. Handle the surrounding area carefully and avoid any action that could damage the sensor or its mounting.
If a detecting sensor has been repaired or replaced, have the vehicle inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner following this work.
Do not attach accessories or stickers to the windscreen, and do not apply windscreen tinting. Keep the glass free of these additions to avoid affecting camera operation.
Take particular care to keep the front view camera dry. Avoid exposing the camera to water or other moisture when cleaning or working around it.
Do not place reflective items, such as white paper or mirrors, on top of the instrument panel. Reflections from these objects can interfere with the camera’s view through the windscreen.
Keep objects away from the windscreen and do not fit accessories to it. Such items can affect the climate control system’s ability to defog or defrost the glass, potentially preventing the driver assistance systems from operating.
Fitting a trailer, carrier or similar equipment may adversely affect Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist. The system may not operate correctly with this equipment installed.
