Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist disabled

A: Blind-Spot Safety system disabled. Radar blocked. |
Snow, rain or other material covering the rear bumper around a rear corner radar sensor can reduce its ability to detect vehicles. A trailer, carrier or similar attachment may also affect detection, temporarily limiting or disabling Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist.
When this happens, a warning message appears on the instrument cluster along with the Master warning light (
). This message does not necessarily indicate a
system fault; it may mean that detection is temporarily obstructed.
Remove the snow, rain or other material, or remove the trailer or attachment, then restart the Kia Picanto. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist should operate normally once the obstruction is cleared and the vehicle has been restarted.
If the system still does not work correctly after the obstruction or attachment has been removed, have it inspected by a professional workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
WARNING
Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist may not work correctly even when no warning message or indicator appears on the instrument cluster.
The system may not operate correctly immediately after the Kia Picanto is switched on if there are no detectable objects nearby, such as in open terrain, or if a detecting sensor is covered by foreign material.
CAUTION
Switch off Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist before fitting or removing a trailer, carrier or other attachment. Switch the system on again once the work is complete.
Limitations of Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance AssistWARNING: Do not place your arms on the airbag cover or through the steering wheel. Failure to follow this instruction could result in personal injury.
WARNING: Keep the areas in front of the airbags free from obstruction. Do not affix anything to or over the airbag covers. Objects could become projectiles during airbag deployment or in a sudden stop. Failure to follow this instruction could result in personal injury or death.
WARNING: Airbags can kill or injure a child in a child restraint. Never place a rear-facing child restraint in front of an active airbag. If you must use a forward-facing child restraint in the front seat, move the seat upon which the child restraint is installed all the way back.
