Press Brake
To start the engine, the shift lever must be in N (Neutral) and the brake pedal must be depressed. Both conditions must be satisfied before the engine can start.
Clutch Over Heated
This warning lamp alerts you to excessive clutch temperature. It illuminates briefly when the ignition switch or ENGINE START/STOP button is turned ON. During operation, it comes on when the estimated clutch temperature reaches the specified limit.
NOTE
The Kia Picanto AMT warning lamp may illuminate if excessive clutch slip occurs during repeated stop-and-go driving on steep slopes or when hill holding is maintained for an extended period. To help prevent overheating, use the brake when travelling slowly uphill or holding the vehicle stationary on an incline.
Holding the vehicle on a hill using only the accelerator, or relying on creeping without applying the brake, can overheat and damage the clutch. If this happens, the warning lamp appears in the instrument cluster.
When the warning lamp is illuminated, apply the foot brake rather than continuing to hold the vehicle with the accelerator or creeping function.
Ignoring the warning and continuing the same driving behaviour can damage both the clutch and transmission.
