The air conditioning refrigerant label fitted to your vehicle may differ from the examples illustrated. Use the label on your vehicle when checking its refrigerant specifications.
The numbered symbols and specifications on the refrigerant label identify the following information:
Refrigerant classification — identifies the type of refrigerant used in the system.
Refrigerant amount — specifies the refrigerant quantity for the system.
Compressor lubricant classification — identifies the specified lubricant type.
Caution — indicates that the relevant safety precautions must be observed.
Service manual — indicates that the service information should be consulted.
CO₂ equivalent of the refrigerant — states the refrigerant’s carbon dioxide equivalent.
The illustration shows the refrigerant label’s location in the engine compartment. Locate this label to check the air conditioning specifications applicable to your vehicle.
Insufficient refrigerant reduces the cooling performance of the Kia Picanto air conditioning system. Overfilling can also adversely affect its operation, so the system must contain the correct refrigerant charge.
If you notice unusual operation or a change in cooling performance, have the air conditioning system inspected by a professional workshop.
Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer/service partner for inspection and servicing.
WARNING
Vehicles equipped with R-134a
The refrigerant operates under
very high pressure. Only trained and certified technicians should service the air conditioning system. The correct
types and quantities of compressor oil and refrigerant must be used; incorrect servicing can damage the vehicle and
cause personal injury.
WARNING
Vehicles equipped with R-1234yf
R-1234yf
refrigerant is mildly flammable and operates under high pressure. Air conditioning servicing must therefore be
performed only by trained and certified technicians.
Always use the specified types and quantities of compressor oil and refrigerant to ensure proper system operation.
All refrigerant must be recovered using appropriate equipment during servicing.
Releasing refrigerant directly into the atmosphere is harmful to people and the environment.
Failure to follow these warnings can result in serious personal injury.
System operation. Climate control air filter: (if equipped)
Sunroof inside air recirculation: (if equipped)WARNING: Position the seatbelt height adjuster so that the seatbelt rests across the middle of your shoulder. Failure to adjust the seatbelt correctly could reduce its effectiveness and increase the risk of injury in a crash.
