Removal



  1.   WARNING: When releasing the cooling system pressure, cover the coolant expansion tank cap with a thick cloth.

    Loosen the pressure relief cap.
  1. Disconnect the coolant control valve electrical connector.
  1. Clamp off the coolant control valve hoses.
  1. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the coolant hoses.
    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
  1. Remove the bolt and the transmission fluid heater coolant control valve.
    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), General Procedures).
