Ford Explorer: Seatbelt Systems / Removal and Installation - Third Row Seatbelt Buckle
Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
NOTE:
LH (left-hand) shown, RH (right-hand) similar.

Remove the luggage compartment floor cover.
-
Remove the luggage compartment storage bin.
-

Detach and disconnect the third row seatbelt buckle electrical connector.
-
Route the wiring harness through the seat frame.
-
Fold the second row seats and position the outer seats forward.
-
Remove the third row seat cushion.
-
Remove the bolt covers.
-
Remove the bolts.
Torque:
35 lb.ft (47 Nm)
-
Remove the bolt and the third row seatbelt buckle.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
Installation
NOTE:
During installation, make sure the seatbelt webbing is not
twisted and the seatbelts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Check the seatbelt system for correct operation.

The steering column system consists of the following components:
Steering wheel
SCCM
Telescopic and tilt motors (power adjustable steering column)
Steering column control switch (power adjustable steering column)
The
steering column is the mechanical linkage between the steering wheel
and the steering gear...
The steering column sets a stopping position just short of the end of the column
position to prevent damage to the steering column. A new stopping position sets
if the steering column encounters an object when tilting or telescoping.
To reset the steering column to its normal stopping position:
Confirm there is nothing obstructing the motion of the steering column...
