The storage compartments in your Kia Picanto provide space for small items used by the driver and passengers. Choose items that fit comfortably inside each compartment without preventing its cover from closing.
CAUTION
Do not leave valuables in the storage compartments, as doing so may increase the risk of theft.
Keep all storage compartment covers closed while driving. Avoid overfilling a compartment or placing items inside that prevent the cover from closing securely.
WARNING
Flammable materials
Never store cigarette lighters, propane cylinders or other flammable or explosive materials inside the vehicle. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can cause these items to catch fire or explode.

The centre console compartments provide storage for small items needed by the driver or front passenger.
To open the centre console storage compartment, pull the release lever upwards and lift the cover.
Pull the handle to release the glove box; it will open automatically. After removing or storing an item, close the glove box securely.
WARNING
Always keep the glove box door closed while driving. An open door increases the risk of injury during an accident or sudden stop.
CAUTION
Do not leave food in the glove box for an extended period.
A luggage net can help keep items from shifting inside the cargo area. Attach the net to the 2 holders provided in the luggage compartment.
If you need assistance with the luggage net or its holders, Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.
CAUTION
Take care when transporting fragile or bulky objects in the luggage compartment. Position and handle them carefully to avoid damaging either the items or the vehicle.
WARNING
To avoid eye injury, never overstretch the luggage net. Always keep your face and body clear of the path the net could follow if it recoils. Do not use the net if its strap shows visible wear or damage.
The cargo area cover conceals items stored in the luggage compartment, keeping them out of direct view.
To remove the cargo area cover, follow these steps:
Detach the straps (1) from both sides of the cargo area cover.
Lift the cover while holding it near the front slots. Then pull the cover (2) upwards at an angle of approximately 50° to remove it.
WARNING
Do not place objects on the cargo area cover. During braking or an accident, they could be thrown into the passenger compartment and injure the vehicle’s occupants.
CAUTION
Do not rest luggage on the cargo area cover while it is fitted. The weight can damage the cover or cause it to lose its shape.
The storage box beneath the luggage board provides space for items such as a first aid kit, warning triangle and tools, helping keep them together and accessible when needed.
To access the box, grasp the handle on top of the cover and lift it upwards.
To increase the available cargo space in your Kia Picanto, reposition the luggage board as follows:
Grasp the handle on top of the luggage board cover and lift it.
Fold the rear section of the luggage board (1) forwards in the direction indicated by (2).
Pull the luggage board hinge (3) to the end of the sliding slot. The board will drop into a lower position, increasing the available cargo space.
Slide the luggage board forwards in the direction indicated by (4).
Windscreen defrosting and defoggingWARNING: Airbags can kill or injure a child in a child restraint. Never place a rear-facing child restraint in front of an active airbag. If you must use a forward-facing child restraint in the front seat, move the seat upon which the child restraint is installed all the way back.
