The hazard warning flasher alerts other drivers to use extra caution as they approach, overtake or pass your Kia Picanto. It makes the vehicle more visible when you need to warn surrounding traffic.

Use the hazard warning flasher when carrying out emergency repairs or when the vehicle has stopped near the edge of the road. Switch it on promptly to alert approaching traffic to the stopped vehicle.
Press the flasher switch with the ignition switch in any position. The switch is located in the centre console switch panel, and pressing it causes all turn signal lights to flash at the same time.
The hazard warning flasher works whether the vehicle is running or stopped.
While the hazard warning flasher is operating, the turn signals cannot be used.
Use care when operating the hazard warning flasher while the vehicle is being towed.
If the engine stalls at a crossroad or crossing, move the shift lever to N (Neutral) and push the vehicle to a safe location, if it is possible to do so safely.
If your vehicle has a manual transmission and is not equipped with an ignition lock switch, you may be able to move it forward by selecting second or third gear and turning the starter without pressing the clutch pedal.
If a tyre goes flat whilst you are driving your Kia Picanto, keep the vehicle under control and follow these steps:
Take your foot off the accelerator and allow the vehicle to slow while keeping it moving in a straight line. Do not brake suddenly or pull off the road at once, as this could cause you to lose control. When the vehicle has slowed sufficiently, brake carefully and move off the road. Stop as far from traffic as possible on firm, level ground. On a divided highway, do not stop in the median between the lanes.
Once stopped, switch on the hazard warning flasher, apply the parking brake and select P (Park) for an automatic transmission or reverse gear for a manual transmission.
Ask all passengers to leave the vehicle on the side away from traffic and wait in a safe place.
Change the flat tyre by following the instructions provided later in this section.
Reduce speed gradually, keeping the vehicle on a straight course, then move carefully to a safe place off the road.
Switch on the hazard warning flasher to alert other road users.
Try to restart the engine. If it will not start, contact a professional workshop. Kia recommends visiting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
