Hose Clamp Remover/Installer

Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Drain the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), General Procedures).
  1. Evacuate the A/C system.
    Refer to: Air Conditioning (A/C) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging - Vehicles With: R1234YF Refrigerant (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, General Procedures).
  1. Remove the radiator grille opening panel.
    Refer to: Radiator Grille Opening Panel (501-02 Front End Body Panels, Removal and Installation).
  1. NOTE: Make sure that all openings are sealed.

    Remove the condenser inlet and outlet nuts and disconnect the fittings.
    Torque:
      Stage 1:  80 lb.in (9 Nm)
      Stage 2:  155 lb.in (17.5 Nm)
    • Disconnect the quick release coupling.
    • Loosen the clamp and position the upper radiator hose.
      Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
    • Detach the coolant hose retainer.
    • Remove the bolt and position the degas bottle aside.
      Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors and detach the wiring harness retainers.
  1. Release the clips and remove the radiator air deflector.
  1. Loosen the clamp and position the CAC hose.
    Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
    • Disconnect the MAP electrical connector.
    • Release the quick connect coupling.
    • Loosen the clamp and position the CAC hose.
      Torque: 44 lb.in (5 Nm)
  1. Release the tabs, remove the bolt and the CAC.
    Torque: 71 lb.in (8 Nm)
  1. Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose.
    Use the General Equipment: Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
  1. Remove the cooling module.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  1. NOTICE: Only use the specified material to lubricate the seals.

    Install new condenser fitting O-ring seals.
    Refer to: Specifications (412-00 Climate Control System - General Information, Specifications).
  1. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
    Refer to: Engine Cooling System Draining, Vacuum Filling and Bleeding (303-03A Engine Cooling - 2.3L EcoBoost (201kW/273PS), General Procedures).
