Removal

All vehicles

NOTE:
If installing a new module, it is necessary to
upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to
removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new
module after installation.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, begin the PMI process for the ACM following the onscreen instructions.
Vehicles equipped with police floor console

Remove the floor console.
Refer to: Floor Console (501-12 Instrument Panel and Console, Removal and Installation).
All vehicles

NOTE:
One screw on each side.
Remove the screws.
Torque:
22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)

Release the clips and position the center dash lower trim panel out.
-
Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the center dash lower trim panel.
-
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
-
Separate the wiring harness guides.
-
Remove the bolt, the screws and the ACM.
Torque:
ACM screws:
22 lb.in (2.5 Nm)
ACM bolt:
106 lb.in (12 Nm)
Installation
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE:
This step is only necessary when installing a new component.
Using a diagnostic scan tool, complete the PMI process for the ACM following the on-screen instructions.

Coolant temperature will vary with ambient temperature and load.
Temperatures shown are for ambient temperature of 38°C (100°F). Red
arrows indicate a temperature over 82.2°C (180°F), Orange arrows

Using a non-marring trim tool disengage the W-clip fasteners.
Rotate the clips and remove the rocker panel moulding...
