Replacing an Inner Panel Fuse

1. Switch off the ignition and all electrical devices.

2. Open the fuse-panel cover.

   

3. Pull the suspected fuse straight out using the fuse removal tool stored in the main fuse box in the engine compartment.

4. Inspect the fuse. If its element is melted, replace it with a spare.

   Spare fuses are located in the instrument-panel fuse panel or in the engine-compartment fuse panel.

5. Insert a new fuse with the same rating and make sure it is held firmly by the clips.

   

If the replacement fuse does not fit securely, have the fuse panel inspected by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.

If no spare fuse is available, you may temporarily use a fuse with the same rating from a circuit that is not needed to operate the vehicle, such as the cigarette-lighter circuit.

If the headlights, taillights, stoplights, courtesy lamp or daytime running lights (D.R.L.) do not work, and their fuses are intact, check the fuse panel in the engine compartment. Replace any blown fuse with one of the same rating.

Replacing an Engine-Compartment Fuse. Multi-Fuse

1. Switch off the ignition and all electrical devices.

2. Press the tab and lift the fuse-panel cover off. Use the fuse puller stored in the engine-compartment fuse box to remove a blade-type fuse. After removing a fuse, fit a spare of the same rating securely in its place.

   

3. Inspect the removed fuse and replace it if it is blown. Use the fuse puller in the engine-compartment panel to remove and install blade-type fuses.

4. Fit a new fuse with the same rating and check that it is held firmly by the clips. If it is loose, have the panel inspected by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.

Caution

After checking the engine-compartment fuse panel, refit its cover securely. Press it into place until it clicks. If the cover is not properly installed, water may enter and cause an electrical failure.

Multi-Fuse

Note

If a multi-fuse has blown, have it inspected by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
