Where fitted, the rear seats in your Kia Picanto have headrests designed to support passenger safety and comfort. Adjust each headrest to suit the person occupying that seating position.
In addition to providing comfortable support, a correctly positioned headrest helps protect the passenger’s head and neck during a collision. Its adjustment is therefore an essential part of preparing the seat for use.
WARNING
|
For the most effective protection in an accident, adjust the headrest so its middle is level with the centre of gravity of the occupant’s head. For most people, this is approximately the height of the top of the eyes. Keep the headrest as close to the head as possible, and avoid using a cushion that holds the body away from the seatback, as this increases the distance between the head and its support.
Do not drive the vehicle with the headrests removed. An occupant may suffer severe injury in a collision without this support. When correctly adjusted, headrests can help protect against serious neck injuries.
Adjusting the height up and down: (if equipped)
|
To raise the headrest, pull it upwards until it reaches the desired position (1). To lower it, press and hold the release button (2) on the support while guiding the headrest down to the required height (3). Choose a height that provides the correct alignment for the passenger.
Removal and installation: (if equipped)
|
To remove the headrest, first raise it to its highest position. Press the release button (1) and keep it depressed while pulling the headrest upwards (2) and out of its supports.
To reinstall it, align the headrest posts with the support holes and insert them while pressing the release button (1). Lower the headrest into place, then adjust its height to suit the occupant before using the rear seat in your Kia Picanto.
WARNING
After adjusting or reinstalling the headrest, make sure it locks securely into position. Correct height and secure engagement are both necessary for the headrest to provide its intended protection.
Folding the rear seat: (if equipped)Use the key blade to start your vehicle and unlock or lock the driver door from outside your vehicle. The integrated keyhead transmitter functions as a programmed ignition key that operates all the locks and starts your vehicle, as well as a remote control.
