A: Driver Assistance

With the Kia Picanto switched on, select User Settings > Driver Assistance > Setup > Vehicle > Driver Assistance > Driver Attention Warning on the infotainment system.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert: Driver Attention Warning notifies the driver when a detected vehicle ahead pulls away from a stop.

Driver Attention Warning in the Kia Picanto provides the following function:

Break recommendation

A: Consider taking a break

If the system determines that the driver’s attention has fallen below a certain level, the Inattentive Driving Warning indicator () flashes, a message appears on the instrument cluster and an audible alert sounds to recommend a break.

Driver Attention Warning does not recommend a break if the total driving time is less than four minutes, or if four minutes have not passed since the previous break recommendation.

WARNING

For safety, adjust the settings only after parking the Kia Picanto in a safe location.

CAUTION

The system may recommend a break based on the driver’s driving pattern or habits, even when the driver does not feel tired.

Driver Attention Warning is a supplementary aid and may not correctly identify every instance of driver inattention.

If you feel tired, stop at a safe location and take a break, even if Driver Attention Warning has not recommended one.

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function

A: Leading vehicle is driving away

When the Kia Picanto is stopped and the system detects that the vehicle ahead has moved off, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert displays a message on the instrument cluster and sounds an alert.

WARNING

If another function displays a warning message or sounds an alert, the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert message or audible warning may not be presented.

The driver remains responsible for safe driving and control of the vehicle.

CAUTION

Leading Vehicle Departure Alert is a supplementary function and may not notify you every time the vehicle ahead moves off from a stop.

Before moving, check the area in front of the Kia Picanto and assess the road and traffic conditions.
