Kia Picanto: Lighting / Battery saver function. Daytime running light : (if equipped)

Kia Picanto 2024-2026 Owner's Manual / Driver Adjustments / Lighting / Battery saver function. Daytime running light : (if equipped)

Battery saver function

The battery saver helps prevent the battery from discharging if the lighting switch is left in the ON position. After the engine is switched off, opening the driver’s door automatically switches off the parking lights. However, if you operate the lighting switch after stopping the engine, the position lamps remain on even when the driver’s door is opened. To deliberately leave these lamps illuminated, turn the position lamps OFF and then ON again using the steering-column lighting switch after switching off the engine.

Daytime running light : (if equipped)

The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) make the front of your Kia Picanto more visible to other road users during daylight hours. They can improve vehicle visibility in a range of driving conditions and are particularly useful during the periods after dawn and before sunset.

The DRL system switches OFF under any of the following conditions:

  1. The headlights are switched on.

  2. The engine is switched off.

  3. The front fog lights are switched on.

  4. The parking brake is engaged.
