The air intake control lets you choose between drawing fresh air from outside the vehicle and recirculating air already inside the passenger compartment.
Press the air intake control button to change between the outside (fresh) air and recirculated air positions.
Recirculated air position
When recirculation is selected, air from inside the passenger compartment
is drawn back through the heating system. It is heated or cooled according to the selected function before returning
to the cabin.
Outside (fresh) air position
When the fresh air position is selected, air enters the vehicle from
outside. The climate system heats or cools this incoming air according to the function you have selected.
NOTE
Prolonged heating with the recirculated air position selected and the air conditioning switched off may cause the windscreen and side windows to mist up. The air inside the passenger compartment may also become stale because fresh outside air is not being introduced.
Extended use of air conditioning with recirculation selected can have a different effect: the air inside the passenger compartment can become excessively dry.
WARNING
Continuous operation in the recirculated air position may allow humidity to build up inside the vehicle. This can cause the windows to mist up and obscure your view of the road.
Do not sleep in a vehicle with the air conditioning or heating system operating. A drop in the oxygen level and/or body temperature may cause serious harm or death.
Prolonged use of recirculated air can cause drowsiness or sleepiness, increasing the risk of losing control of the vehicle. While driving your Kia Picanto, use the outside (fresh) air position as much as possible.
Use the fan speed control knob to select the desired blower speed and adjust the airflow through the Kia Picanto ventilation system.
A higher fan speed delivers more air through the outlets, while a lower setting provides a gentler flow. Adjust the speed to suit the cabin conditions and your comfort.
To stop the fan, press the OFF button on the climate control panel.
