Replace the climate-control air filter according to the maintenance schedule. If the vehicle is driven for long periods in heavily polluted cities or on dusty, rough roads, inspect the filter more often and replace it sooner if needed. When changing the filter in the Kia Picanto, follow the steps below and take care not to damage nearby components.
Open the glove box, then press both sides inward to lower it.

Press the lock on the right side of the climate-control air-filter cover and remove the cover.

Remove the old climate-control air filter and fit the replacement.
Reassemble the components in the reverse order of removal.

Note
Install the climate-control air filter in the correct position. Incorrect installation may cause noise and reduce the filter’s effectiveness.

Note
Hot wax used by some automatic car washes can leave a film that makes the windscreen difficult to clean.
Vehicle owners are responsible for washing and maintaining the Kia Picanto with suitable methods and materials.
Dirt on the windscreen or wiper blades can reduce wiping performance. Common contaminants include insects, tree sap and hot wax from some commercial car washes. If the wipers do not clear the glass properly, clean both the windscreen and the blades with a suitable cleaner or mild detergent, then rinse them thoroughly with clean water.
Caution
Do not use petrol, kerosene, paint thinner or other solvents on or near the wiper blades. These products can damage the blades.
If the wipers no longer clear the windscreen effectively, the blades may be worn or cracked and should be replaced.
Caution
Do not move the wipers by hand, as this may damage the wiper arms or other components.
Caution
Use the specified replacement wiper blades. An unsuitable blade may not operate correctly and could cause wiper-system failure.
Raise the wiper arm and rotate the blade assembly to expose its plastic locking clip.

Caution
Do not let the wiper arm drop onto the windscreen. The impact could chip or crack the glass.
Press the locking clip and slide the blade assembly downward.
Lift the blade assembly off the wiper arm.
Fit the replacement blade by following the removal steps in reverse order.

Raise the rear wiper arm and pull the blade assembly away from it.

Fit the replacement blade by placing its centre section into the slot in the wiper arm. Push it into place until it clicks.
Check that the blade is firmly attached by gently pulling on it.

To avoid damaging the wiper arms or other components, have the blades replaced by a qualified workshop. Kia recommends contacting an authorised Kia dealer or service partner.
